Information Collection & Use


Registration

In order to use this Web site, you must first complete the registration form.  During registration you are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact you about the services on our site in which you have expressed interest. 

If you wish to place bids or submit requests for proposal, you are required to provide additional personal information (such as your business information or professional credentials) (“Profile”) to us for evaluation by your potential counterparties.  Your Profile will be searchable by other users on our Web site.  We do not have any obligation under this Privacy Policy with respect to information in your Profile or any other information you provide to other users.

NeuLexa is the sole owner of the information collected on www.neulexa.com. NeuLexa collects personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our Web site.

Orders

If you purchase a service from us, we request certain personally identifiable information from you on our order form. You must provide contact information (such as name, email, and mailing address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). 

We use this information for billing purposes and to fill your orders.  If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you.

Our payment system requires users to pay with a credit card, wire transfer, ACH or debit card. We will collect your credit card number and/or other entered financial institution information such as bank account numbers and will use that information to bill your subscription fee and/or to perform the billing operation on behalf of the user, including but not limited to the use and disclosure of such credit card number and information to third parties as necessary to complete such billing operation. Verification of credit information, however, is accomplished solely by the user through the authentication process.

Surveys

From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site.  If you participate, we will request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information.  The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and email address), and demographic information (such as age and gender). 

We use this information to improve the quality of our services to you and others on the Web site.

We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address.  We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site.  NeuLexa stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and tracking the success of our referral program. 

Your friend may contact us at contact@neulexa.com to request that we remove this information from our database.

Uses of Information

We collect your personal information including your first and last name, email address and password when you register as a user on the Web site using our signup or registration form.  We will use this information to contact you regarding our services from time to time.  If you wish to participate in possible transactions with other users of the Web Site, you will be required to provide additional personal information including the full legal name of the business entity you are associated with, its street address, city, state, postal code, phone number, and your professional profile.  Such additional information will be searchable by users of the Web site for the purpose of connecting, collaborating, and/or transacting with you. 

We will also use aggregate information to improve the online experience of visitors and users of our services and to create or publish statistical analyses and reports about usage by users.

Newsletters

If you wish to subscribe to our newsletter(s), we will use your name and email address to send the newsletter to you.  Out of respect for your privacy, we provide you a way to unsubscribe.  Please see the “Choice and Opt-out” section.

Service-related Announcements

We will send you service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so.  For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. 

Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature.  If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.

Customer Service

Based upon the personally identifiable information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password.  We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email, in accordance with your wishes.

Supplementation of Information

In order to provide certain services to you, we may on occasion supplement the personal information you submitted to us with information from third party sources.

We use a third party to verify your identity, in order to ensure the integrity of the marketplace and users on the Web site.

We verify your information to the personally identifiable information the users provided to us.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade Personal Identifiable Information with third parties for their promotional purposes.

Aggregate Information (non-personally identifiable)

We share aggregated demographic information about our user base with our partners and advertisers.  This information does not identify individual users.

We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information. 

Personally identifiable information:

We DO NOT Share Personally Identifiable Information with Third Parties, but may share such information with our parent company, subsidiaries, or companies under a common control (collectively, the “Affiliated Companies”), if and when such Affiliated Companies are created.  The Affiliated Companies will be required to comply with this Privacy Policy if they receive your Personally Identifiable Information.

Information Provided in Projects and Interest Groups

Our Service provides our clients with a workspace to centralize information (e.g., project related documents or interest group library documents) to facilitate collaboration by authorized users. We do not know, and users have no obligation to inform us, whether the information contained in a workspace includes personal data. We are not responsible for the content of the information stored in a workspace by the users nor do we decide who has access to such information. We perform limited processing of information for our clients.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure, in our sole discretion, is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, official government investigation, or other legal process served on our Web site, or under exigent circumstances in response to a perceived significant threat to a person's health or property.

 

Choice/Opt-out

We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information.  For example, if you purchase a service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference on our order form.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by emailing us at contact@neulexa.com

You will be notified when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.

Log Files

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files.  This information includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. 

We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the site, to track users’ movements around the site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. 

We do not link this automatically-collected data to personally identifiable information. 

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site.

If you choose to contact us using an online form or otherwise submit information to us through our website, your web browser will create a temporary cookie. This temporary cookie records your email address and makes it faster and easier to submit forms to us. Once you have finished using the form or submitting your information, the cookie is automatically deleted. We do not collect any information stored in this temporary cookie. If your browser is set not to accept cookies, your form information may not be received by NeuLexa.

We also use cookies to help identify you to the Web site and provide you with an additional level of security. After you have accessed the Web site and supplied your user ID and password, a temporary cookie is placed on your computer indicating that you have been verified to access the Service. This cookie enables you to enter a workspace throughout your current working session and will remain on your computer until you log out of that Workspace or you close your web browser. We set a persistent cookie to store your passwords, so you don’t have to enter it more than once.  A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file.  Persistent cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

When you access our website, we, or companies we hire to track how our website is used, may place small data files called "cookies" on your computer.

If you provide information to the Interest Groups on this site, you should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages.  We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these forums. We reserve the right to terminate the accounts of users who use these services in a manner inconsistent with our Terms of Use.

Access to Personally Identifiable Information

If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, delete or deactivate it by making the change on our member information page.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us.  When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).
